Korean Air, South Korea’s largest airline, recently unveiled the first direct route between Barcelona and Seoul. The route, which will include three weekly flights, responds to the growing stream of travellers between the two countries. Korean Air already operates three direct weekly connections with Madrid.
The number of South Korean tourists that visit Spain has seen spectacular growth in the last six years, with the number increasing thirteenfold.
Some 23,250 Spaniards travelled to South Korea in 2016 (a 15.2% year-on-year increase), while 341,000 South Koreans visited Spain (5% more than in 2015).
